At Hexspoor, it’s not just about working together, but also about the moments we spend together. Taking a break from our busy days, catching up and enjoying each other’s company. That’s what inspired us to create our very own Hexspoor Bites Book, a recipe book filled with our colleagues’ favourite snacks and nibbles.
To celebrate the launch of the book, we organised a Friday afternoon get-together. And of course, we couldn’t celebrate without trying some of the recipes ourselves!
Everyone has a favourite snack they love to serve when friends or family come over. Perhaps it’s a familiar recipe that’s always a hit, or something a little different to try.
For our Borrelboek, we invited colleagues to share their favourite recipes. The result was a lovely collection divided into four categories: warm snacks, cold snacks, spreads and dips, and typical Dutch bites. From familiar favourites to unique dishes and family recipes with a personal story.
Several colleagues got busy in their own kitchens to prepare their dishes for the get-together. Thaair made his tabbouleh, a traditional Syrian salad that reminds him of his childhood and family gatherings, when the table was filled with food and everyone ate together. Silvan brought warm, traditional Brabant sausage rolls, while Céline surprised us with her original roasted fennel spread.
So we didn’t just get to read the recipes in the book. We got to taste them together too!

For the occasion, we transformed our canteen into a cosy, traditional pub. The afternoon began with a few words from Sjors, who officially presented the Hexspoor Borrelboek and spoke about the importance of connecting with colleagues and spending time together. Afterwards, everyone received their copy of the book and we could finally enjoy the bites our colleagues had prepared
With a beer pong table, table football, a Dutch shuffleboard and, of course, a table full of homemade snacks, everything was in place for a fun afternoon. The competition to set the beer pong record was particularly fierce! In the end, Anton claimed the record and went home with a large bottle of speciality beer as his prize.
In between the games, there was plenty of time to catch up, share a laugh and enjoy each other’s company. A lovely opportunity to spend time together outside our daily work and welcome the weekend.
We look back on this Friday afternoon get-together with a smile. It was lovely to see our colleagues’ recipes come together in one book and on the table for everyone to enjoy.
A big thank you to all our colleagues who shared a recipe, prepared something delicious or joined us for the afternoon.
We’d also love to share the Borrelboek with our clients. Would you like a copy of your own? Just let us know! Who knows, one of our colleagues’ favourite snacks might soon be on your table too.
Don’t forget to enjoy!
