On 15 May, Hexspoor colleagues left their cars at home en masse and opted for the bike instead. A fresh start to the day – great for vitality and a sustainable choice.
Bike to Work Day is the perfect occasion to encourage our colleagues to swap the car for the bicycle. After all, cycling to work is good for your health, your mood, and the environment. That’s why we actively promote it as an employer.
Our colleagues were warmly welcomed upon arrival in Boxtel and received a small gift as a token of appreciation for their effort.
By cycling instead of driving, we saved €0.41 per kilometre. But of course, the impact goes beyond ourselves. That’s why Hexspoor doubled this amount for every kilometre cycled on 15 May, donating it to the Cycling out of Poverty Foundation (CooP-Africa). Through our support of CooP’s Bike4Work projects, we help farmers and small entrepreneurs in Kenya and Uganda cycle their way out of poverty. A bicycle offers them opportunities – such as quicker access to work, school, or medical care.
With every kilometre we cycled, we helped improve access to education, employment, and healthcare for others.
