Hexspoor has been handling the worldwide distribution of Foam Magazine for more than 15 years. We are therefore especially proud to have been entrusted with distributing these special anniversary editions.
Foam Magazine was first published in 2001 and has since become one of the most influential publications in the world of photography.
Hexspoor has been handling the worldwide distribution of Foam Magazine since 2009. At that time, Hexspoor was not only a partner for distribution, but was also involved in the production of the magazine as a bookbinder. Silvan Hexspoor says: ‘‘The Test of Time’ is a wonderful theme for the 25th anniversary of this special magazine. Yes, we are extremely proud to have contributed for over 15 years to spreading this extraordinary publication. In the early years, we handled literally the entire process after printing: from binding to worldwide shipping. And at FOAM, that is not a standard job. Working with various paper types, precise folding, and sewn binding with a visible spine. The Swiss binding, which uses colored threads, made every issue a work of art in itself. It often included a bellyband, double gatefolds, or flaps on the cover as an extra visual surprise for both the reader and our machine operators on the folding, sewing, and binding machines.’’
Today, Hexspoor has shifted its focus entirely to fulfilment and logistics. But even that requires craftsmanship. Distributing FOAM Magazine, with its size, weight, and international readership, is a logistical challenge we gladly embrace. Think premium packaging, lightning-fast webshop shipments (‘the singles’), accurate address files, the right ‘last mile’ carriers, and full traceability. All to ensure that each edition arrives in perfect condition, from Boxtel to the heart of Paris and New York, overcoming obstacles like tiny Parisian mailboxes and U.S. shipping tariffs.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, a special edition has been published: Foam Magazine #67: The Test of Time. Featuring contributions from no fewer than 92 creators from photography and beyond, this magazine presents a mix of portfolios, interviews, and personal stories. This issue looks back at the history of the museum and asks the question: what makes an image stand the test of time?
The internationally recognized photography magazine Foam is published by the Foam Photography Museum Amsterdam. The Dutch museum focuses on both established names and emerging photographic talent. The magazine is an integral part of Foam’s mission: to make photography more visible, visually surprising and intellectually engaging.
