On Thursday 1 October, we opened our doors as part of the Open Bedrijven Route Boxtel. From curious students to local residents and job seekers, we welcomed a variety of visitors and showed them what goes on at Hexspoor every day.
One of the highlights of the day was a visit from 30 students from Jacob-Roelandslyceum. During a guided tour, they got a behind-the-scenes look at our operations and followed the journey of an online order. From the moment an order comes in to the point where the parcel is ready for shipping.
After the tour, it was time for the students to try our Pick & Pack game themselves. After all, how difficult can packing a parcel really be?
They soon discovered that there is more to it than you might think. How do you assemble a box correctly? What does SKU mean? How do you seal a box neatly? And have you picked all the right products?
The students took on the challenge with great enthusiasm. They quickly found out that working both quickly and accurately can be quite a challenge!
It was great for us to introduce the students to the world of fulfilment in such a hands-on way. And who knows, perhaps we will welcome some of them back to Hexspoor for their first part-time job in the future.
Alongside the students, we also welcomed job seekers, interested local residents and representatives from local educational institutions and the municipality of Boxtel.
We showed visitors how our fulfilment process works, talked about the different roles within our company and enjoyed conversations about what we do every day and the opportunities to work at Hexspoor.
We look back on the Open Bedrijven Route with great pleasure. The students’ curious questions, their enthusiasm during the Pick & Pack game and the lovely conversations with our other visitors made it a wonderful day.
